In Quebec, companies can either register an incorporation as a number (with no name requirements) or under a specific name. The business name needs to be French and may have an English version that is a direct translation. If, on the other hand, the option of a number company is selected, the government will randomly select the actual number allotted. Although such companies can also register a business trade name, the allotted number will always be used on legal documents.
